EXTENSION PROJECTS

Santon

This projects main aim... Make a typical farmhouse contemporary in aesthetics and functionality.
The existing dwelling is made of up of multiple rooms that do not work well together. The project was in two phases.

The first being the renovation of the kitchen to include two large bi fold door units to maximise light into the kitchen and create a social hub for the house which can easily be enjoyed with the garden in the summer months.
The second phase sees the construction of a single storey extension enlarging the existing dining room with vast amounts of glazing to create a light and airy hub of the house. The extension also houses a quadruple garage area. The extension has been purposefully designed to stand out from the existing on its own and is finished with a contemporary zinc roof.
Completed: June 2017

Majestic Drive, Onchan

A project in the prominent residential location of Majestic Drive, Onchan, to extend and alter the existing dwelling, creating tourist accommodation to the lower ground floor and additional family accommodation to the upper floor.
The project kept the existing dwelling largely the same to allow the client to continue living on site whilst the project commenced. The lower ground floor was largely extended to create a open plan area incorporating living, dining and kitchen zones. The upper floor was extended by enclosing an existing balcony areas and creating a new terraced area over the lower ground floor extension.
Large areas of glazing were a big factor in the brief to maximise the views out to the bay and beyond. The garden has been landscaped at the same time to allow a smooth connection between the internal space and outside.
Part project completed 2015. Upper floor works completed early 2017.

Port Erin

The brief required the extension and alteration to the existing dwelling to create one additional bedroom, living space and home office without having an adverse impact on the existing site.
The existing integral garage was converted into a home office giving ample room for working and storage of documents.

The existing dormer to the rear was extended to allow one of the upper bedrooms to be enlarged and split to create the extra bedroom. New Cedar timber cladding was used to give a more contemporary feel.
A single storey extension was constructed to the rear garden coming off the existing living room. This utlises large bi fold doors and rooflights to maximise light penetration and be enjoyed all year round.
